Being part of such a personal experience, as the opening of a new family venture is always a pleasure. We were honoured to take on-board the task of turning a bistro in the old town, into an industrial vintage, but a contemporary designed venue for fine Italian dining. The turnaround had to be quite quick, with us being up against the clock, with the new owners keen to open before the Marbella feria. Understandably the old town is flooded with visitors this time of year, what more of a perfect time to showcase the new restaurant to the town, locals and visitors.
Firstly we needed to brighten up the space giving it instant new life. Every area where there was dark wood we white grain washed. Also all of the walls in one of our signature colours. Next to create the wooden frames that look like old window frames to finish off the wall of mirrors we added adjacent to the bar., All of the benches were reupholstered in complementary earthy coloured fabrics. The chosen colour for the accent was to be olive green, this would be interpreted in both in the new corporate identity for the restaurant Casa Tua, and followed on in the interior by the feature suspended lighting, and table runners.
When working on and interior scheme for a new business, we also work on the identity with our graphic department, and work very closely, and have input at every stage, acting as the consultant for the client on all levels, so the whole concept marries together to complete the whole scheme. One thing in the work we do every day, gives a really good insight into what people want, both on a commercial, and residential scale. We need to get to grips with people’s needs and wants very quickly, this is our skill to create their vision, with our guidance.
We next concentrated on the exterior for the Old amazing building, over 4 floors towering over the main walkway, we had the mammoth task of cutting back most of the bougainvillea, a beautiful feature, but was hiding the new façade of the soon to be Casa Tua. With light colours painted freshly following the theme from the interior. Black iron bars, were given an antiqued white wash. Little did we know soon to be trending with half of the street. We will take that as a compliment. The exterior signage should be straight to the point, showing of the new colours and logo, and the modern architectural up and down lighters added to the effect we also created with floodlights shooting up the building. The exterior is a show stopper in the evening.
We hope you can pass by to enjoy the amazing food, and hospitality, in such a wonderful environment. We have a strong passion for designing Restaurants and commercial business’, making a success for such wonderful clients, is the most satisfying part by far.
