This abandoned 5 bedroom villa repossession in El Rosario, was totally stripped of all fixtures and fittings, not to mention the unbearable damp in the basement caused by an unattended water leak over a long period of time. Our task, to make this into a family home for its new English owners. They want to slow down their busy business lifestyle, for a more Andalucían approach to life, and nowhere better to do it than in a house designed by us..
As we always advise on layout and any initial changes we can make to the house both internally and externally. For investment purposes and to benefit the future of the property, or more to suit the way a family (the clients) will use their new home. A simple modernization and bringing things into good working order, making good and up to date was what was needed here.
From the outside immediately the mustard color that dates these style of houses, and there are so many this color. A fresh white approach makes it so much more contemporary and cared for. The small insignificant kidney shaped swimming pool was changed to an eleven by five meters pool with white tiles, with sweeping stairs visible from the approach in the main lounge. Along with the white exterior we matched with grey detailing to, and light painted wood, to transform the sad dark wood details. Contemporary up and down lighters set the house off amazingly during the evening, giving the villa the stature it deserves.
Interior double doors previously led into the lounge, were moved onto another wall, changing the way we could use the distribution of furniture in the lounge, and of course our current trademark kitchen and open living space, lends itself to being a more social and family orientated area.
The color palette we use are light and bright, and a canvas for adding to over time in some areas. There are dashes of color, but mainly a classic contemporary scheme, which has longevity, in the communal areas.
The children’s bedrooms are tailored towards their favorite things, after spending time choosing with clients every step of the way, it is always so satisfying the realization of how much they will enjoy these rooms, should it be sparkles or pirates!
The master bedroom sets the scene for a cosy early night, or a luxury lie in. With rich velvets, silks and crystal hanging lights, a touch of Marbella. Well… we have to occasionally.
Thank you for following our work, and I hope you enjoy what we do as much as we do putting it all together.
